RUMOUR DENIED.
SALE OL MEAT WORKS. Electric Telegraph—Press Association MASTERTO.W Last Night. Rumours that the- well-known meat export firm of Borthwick and Sons (Australasia). Ltd., had sold out to the Co-operative Wholesale Societv were characterised by Mr P. j. Borthwick. a director of the firm, as “all rot.” Lately rumours of alleged sale have persisted in usually wellinformed circles in Wairarapa and Wellington. Questioned, Air Borthwick emphatically denied that there was the slightest tincture of truth in tin* statements that his firm had sold cut. “There is nothing in the rumours at all,” ho said. “I do not know their origin, but 1 can tell you this and you can quote me on it. that as long as there- is a Borthwick dive our husinosv is definite! v not for sale.”
