POWER BOARD ENGINEER.
FAREWELL ED AT OPUNAKE
About 30 couples attended a farewell dance on Saturday evening, when members of the Opunake G-olf Club farewelled Mr and Mrs and Miss Eileen Fraser, who are shortly to leave for Eketahuna, where Mr Fraser will take up duties as engineer to tho Tararua Power Board, says the Taranaki Herald. The evening was pleasantly spent in dancing until midnight. During the evening Mrs C. H. Mareroft, president of the Cadies’ Golf Club, presented Mrs and Miss Fraser with posies and remarked that during her six years' residence in Opunake, Mrs I*'raser had always taken a keen interest in the club. Miss Fraser, who had been playing for only two years, was at present junior champion.
Mr G. MTvor, president of the Men's Club, then called on Mr Fraser to accept a s©iall gift. With liis departure , would one of the keenest members of the 4 club, and be had been club champion several times. He wished Mr and Mrs Fraser and family every possible success in Eketahuna. Musical honours were accorded tho guests. Mr Fraser suitably replied. The function concluded with the singing of “Auld Gang Syne.”
