YOUNG FARMERS' MOVEMENT.
MANGATAINOKA CLUB MEETS Members of the Mangatainoka Young Farmers’ Club met in the Library Hall last night under the chairmanship oi Mr P Cooper. It was reported that the Ballance Club had arranged lor a Field Day oil February 26 at which four separate demonstrations would he given on matters oi importance to. the farmers—members were agreed u|H)ii the suitability ol this date -»mi io was decided tc Jail in with the proposal. A letter was received from tho Wairarapa Young Fanners' C ];ib notifying that combin'd Field Days and inter-club meetings had been suggested to be held at th<» Plant Research Station. Palmerston North and at the Wallacevillc Veterinary Laboratory some time* in the autumn. Mr Freeman, who attended, pointed out that the earlier in the season the better it was for such a visit *:<> the Plant Research Station as the grasses were growing at that time and could be better studied. He suggested that a visit to the seed testing station in the inoming would be well worth while, and March was perhaps the best time for such visit. It was decided to visit the Palmerston North Plant Research St action on Thursday, March 19. at an. hour suitable to permit ol an inspection of the seed lal'oratories ami the plant e> perimeutal plots. V visit will be paid to the Wallaeevilio Laboratory on a date during Juno. It was agreed to invite Mr M. Svron. Dept. Dairy Instructor, of Masterton, to attend a meeting oil March 26, and give a lecture on jKiints of interest to the dairy farmer. Air Freeman was accorded a hearty vote of thanks lor attending tlie meeting The secretary (Mr J. Ammundscn) announced that members desirous #.f obtaining Club Badges are advised to communicate with him, sending in money for same with applications.
