Electric Telegraph—Tress Association NELSON. Last- Night. Eduard John Cavaiu.gh, aged 25exehange clerk at the Motueka Post Office, \vas drowned in the Motueka. river yesterday. He left home early in the afternoon for a swim and his body was found at 4.30 p.m. in a deep pool. He had been learning to s\v ini, making vise- of water w ill ;os , which apparently failed him. His parents are resident at Wellington. HASTINGS. Last Night A 15-year-old boy, Hebert- Davidson, son of Mr Peter Da-vidson, farmer, of Maraekakukaho, wa - drowned in a lake this evening. He and another hoy were diving off a boat when Davidson got into difficulties and the other hoy was unable to save him. CHILD KILLED BY TRUCK. DUNEDIN, Hist Night. A five-year-old boy, Arthur Inn Romney, son of Mr Arthur Rmimcy, farmer, of Paretai, near Balclutha, was struck by a motor-truck near li,is home on Monday afternoon. He was unconscious when picked up and died m hospital a few hours later. The boy ran round from behind a mail car on the side of the road and was struck by a truck driven bv Leonard Callahan.
