CARS IN COLLISION.
ACCIDENT IN MAIN STREET. About 5.45 last night two cars were involved in a head-on collision in Main Street near the W.F.C.A. garage. District Nurse Lee, of Wanganui, driving a baby car with a sister, Mrs \\ el lei, of Island Bay. and three young children, from Wellington to Hastings, had proceeded along tlie street for seme distance till she reached the end of the hedge t ringing tlie tennis court garden when suddenly a light car driv< Miss Burgess, of Kaitawa. hove in sight, coining across the street from the opposite side of the road. Owing to the height ol the hedge the two cars were hidden iroiu view till the turn was reached and thus a collision had taken place bcJoro either parties were aware of " h;it. had happened. Mrs Weller was thrown out of the smaller car and was knocked unconscious for sonio minutes till she was brought- round under the ministrations of Dr. E. B. Watson. Ihe ear driven by Miss Burgess was able to proceed along under its own power, loiter the passengers in tin damaged car were conveyed to Hastings by a local taxi.
