The main contests are between the Popular Party, headed by Tsaldaris. and the Venizelos Party, headed by Sophonlos. Officers supporting Venirelists and Konelylis are believed to be eager to seize power ii the elections are unfavourable to them, and troops are ready to quell any outbreak.
