111 an inter-club tennis match played at Kaitawa on Saturday, the ATakomako Club were successful iri defeating the Kaitawa team by 13 sets to 9, two games not being completed.
Under the auspices o»f the U.A.O.H. a Social and Dance will be held in the Ballance Hall on Friday, January 31. Patrons are assured of an excellent night’s entertainment with a. good supper and floor. Mr Jack Corn ford will supply the music. The charges are reasonable and a good night’s fun is promised.
Excellent entries are idoming to hand for the jumping events at the Pahiatua. Show, to be held on February 14th, and these popular and spectacular contests promise to be a feature of the gathering. The marshals and stewards are to be. appointed to-morrow, and final arrangements made for the Show*. The judging events in the sheep and cattle sections for members of the Young Farmers’ Clubs are arousing exceptionally keen interest and a. large entry is expected. Adjudicators for the various sections of the Show will be finalised tomorrow' and arrangements made for fodder and paddocking of stock.
