On Wednesday, January 29, there will be a, gala day at the Woodville Bowling green and two rinks- from Pahiatua. will make the trip, the players being : Oosford, F'ox, Carracl and Hagan (s) and Taylor, Clarke, L. Chatwin and Coldicutt.

The Mangamutu Tennis Club held a very successful Club Day during the week-end. A tournament was run, the winners of wbicli were Mrs W. Houston in the ladies’ section with three wins, and the men’s trophy was annexed by Mr C-. Davies also with three wins.

The Pahiatua Bowling Club has received a challenge from Eketahuna for the Manson and Barr Cup and tin- game will be played on Saturday, February 1. The postponed return home-and -home match against the Woodville Club will he played at Woodville on Wednesday, February 19.

Mr South, snr., had a nasty fall from his bicycle, recently while negotiating a corner into Main St. As he was about to make the turn a cyclist coming towards him cut the corner on his wrong side, and it very nearly resulted in a collision, hut luckily this, was averted, A dog following ill the wake of the cyclist proved Mr South’s undoing, however, and the latter was shot violently from his machine to the roadside. Although not hurt to any great extent. Mr South received a nasty shaking.
