Perfect weather and a good, wicket made conditions favourable this afternoon for the commencement of the cricket match between the M.C'.C. team. and Wanganui at Cook’s Gardens. A fair attendance of spectators were treated to* thrilling bUI »g by .1. H. Parks, who scored lid not out.

M.C'.C. had first use of the wicket and declared at the tea adjournment with 202 runs for the loss of two wickets. Warues took both wickets for Wanganui for 52 runs. Wangan|u commenced their first innings after tea and had lost eight wickets for 74 runs, when stumps were drawn. Bullock-Douglas was top iscorer with 14.
