FIRE BOARD MEETS.
LAST NIGHTS BUSINE1 — A mooting ot tin- Pahiatua Volunteer Fire Brigade* was held at tile Fire Station l.i-t night. Superintendent W. Lawn presided over a good attendance of members. Fireman J. Stoke- was appointed delegate* to atte'nd the* United Fire Brigade Association Conference to be hold at Hastings from the 7th to the 11th March.
It was decided to send a team to the Cnited Districts Fire Brigade Association competitions and demonstrations, to be, held at Hastings at Easter, and eight men have been put in training under The control <4 Foreman Gowler and Secretary Meade, from which tin- team (six men) will Ik* chosen. Delegates re|>orte*l that the Friendlv Societies’ picnic arrangements were progressing tavourably and pointed to an excellent day. Tlic* secret ary advised that Mr A. C. Paget lmd donated a billiard cue and case- for a snooker tournament. Arrangements were made for the brigade* coni|>etitions to be held next mcm til.
