THE MUNICIPAL BAND

(Correspondence is welcomed on interesting subjects, but we do not necessarily endorse the opinions of correspondents) (To the Editor A Sir. Allow me space in your columns to ask a question the answer of which will interest many in Pahiatua. It is: “Have we a band:' ’ From time; to time we have heard that the band is being re-organised, is practising .regularly and is making excellent progress, but we wait m vain for a public appearance. Christmas has passed ami with it an excellent opportunity for an appearance* of the .Pahiatua Alunicipal Silver Band. No doubt some of the members will take exception to this letter and produce nmnoiroiis excuses anil reasons why the band has not made a public* appearance. Still if the members of the band, after six months’ or more continuous practice, are not capable of public performance surely it is time that the band discontinued wasting the valuable time of its members. The j.ong evenings at present should surely be suitable for an open air band concert and 1 think it is time wo at least heard what the hand intends doing.—-Thanking you, I am, etc., • ‘ j NT ERESTED.”
