Buyers were present from surrounding districts and the Manawatu. Manawatu buyers secured a very small proportion - of the entry which would indicate that the local enquiry is still very strong. Competition on every pen was keen, prices for the tail ends and cull lines being particularly attractive. Some very nice pens of lambs were submitted and sold at prices comparable with recent sales. We quote as follows: Sheep: Account E. G. Evans, 148 forward b.f. lambs, 18s Id; 23 store do., 1.55. Account C. W. Dagg: 197 forward b.f. lambs 18s; 73 shorn wether lambs, 16s 6*u ; cull b.f. lambs, 14s 3d. Account C. Welch: W.W. lambs, 18s, 17s ; b.f. lambs, 18s Id. Account A. E. Brittain : W.W. lambs, 17s 6d. Account F. H. Schormann : Forward b.f. lambs, 19s. Account Dickens Bros. : Woolly wether lambs, 18s; small do., 14s 6d. Account A. J. Perry: Shorn wether lambs, 16s iOd.
