STOCKWELL CUP COMPETITION.

DISSATISFACTION OVER DRAW

All ordinary meeting of the Pahiatua Anglers' Club was held last, night in Messrs Matthews Bros, otfice. In the absence oi the president (Mr F. F. Barraclough), Mr -V. Morgan presided over a fair attendance •of members. A letter was received from Mr A. A. Vaughan thanking the club for re-electing him a vice-president and enclosing a trophy. The secretary was instructed to write to Mr Vaughan expressing the club s appreciation. The following draw for the Stockwell Cup was received: First round November 3rd ; Palmerston North v. Feilding, at Feiiding; Woodville v. Dannevirke. at Dannevirke; Pahiatua a bye. .Second round, November 17th: Feilding v. Dannevirke, at Dannevirke; Pahiatua v. Woodville, at Woodville; Palmerston North a bye. Third round, February, 1936: Feilding v. Woodville, at Woodville; Pahiatua v. Palmerston North. at Palmerston North ; Dannevirke a bye. Fourth round, March: Feilding v. Pahiatua, at Feilding; Palmerston North v. Dannevirke, at Palmerston North ; Woodville a bye. Fifth round, April: Pahiatua v. Dannevirke, at Dannevirke; Woodville v'. Palmerston North, at Palmerston North ; Feilding a bye. Several members voiced their opinion on the draw, expressing dissatisfaction. Pahiatua had to travel on each occasion. The draw was accepted with the exception that Pahiatua had to travel to Dannevirke to fish Dannevirke, in view of tlie iact that Dannevirke refused to come to Pahiatua last year. It was decided that as several members had been employed liberating on the day ol the last competition that those employed liberating should be afforded the* portunity of another day to fi >h.' Hie day fixed was the last Sunday oi the month (November), Me>~r-> E. Eddie, A. Morgan, E. Parkas, H. Reales and H Chinery being the eligible liiembeu’s. The secretary advised that Mr T. Verry had donated a trophy tor the best bag weighed in during the season M essrs A. Morgan and I*. H. Taylor were appointed judges for this competition, weight, length, girth, species, sex, locality taken, lure, with general comment on condition together with weather conditions etc., to be taken into consideration. Tho secretary was instructed to thank Mr Verry for his kind donation. Mr Eddie said he had received a complaint from a farmer that fishermen had been on his property, leaving gates open and driving across his property in any weather.
