FIRST-CLASS FORGERY.
TI’NNIC LIKKF FOUND GUILTY. Electric Telegraph— Press Association NAPIER May 29. In summing up the charge of issuing a false cheque for £11)00, heard in the Supreme Court against Edward Mount fort Tunnicliffe. Justice Blair said that it was a first-class forgery, but the prisoner was no; charged with forgery. Had ho been, lie would have told the jury that ;f there had Ihh«u sufficient * vide nee issuing the cheque, that would have been sufficient to convict liriin of* forgery. After aii absence, of sixtv minutes the jury roturiu*d a verdict of uttering the cheque.* Accused was remanded for sentence.
