BRIGANDS ESCAPE.
TERRORISING INDIAN COUNTRYSIDE PRISON SENTRY TRICKED. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copvright. CALCUTTA, April 6. Eleven notorious brigands, who were awaiting trial for a village hold-up in Bhagalpur State made a daring escape from gaol at Bhagalnagar yesterday, and are at present terrorising the countryside. They tricked a sentrv into opening their cells and seizecl his rifle and shot and severely wounded him. Then they looted the police armoury of 11 guiis and hundreds of rounds of ammunition and fled into the jungle. The seventeen-year daughter of Comilla, a Government pensioner, has been arrested in connection with terrorist activities.
