OBITUARY.

mr. john McPherson colt

The manv friends of Mr J ohn McPherson “Cole will regret to hear of his death, which occurred at the Masterton Hospital, after a short illness. The late Mr Cole, who was horn in Masterton sixty years ago, had spent the greater part of his life here. In his earlier days Mr Cole, a member of a well-known, family, was associated with the old Masterton Implement Company for a period of about 26 years. For a short time he was farming at Makairo, in the Pahiatua district, and subsequently took up the F )r “; pertv known as “Willow Grove, Homebush, where he Had since resided for a considerable number or years. Although Mr Cole did not take an active part in anything of a public- nature, he was a most industrious man and was very thorough in everything he undertook. The late Mr Cole is survived hv a widow, one son, Air J. H. Cole (Homebushi, and five daughters, Alesdames F. Rogers (Te Whiti), H. A. Champion (Homebush), and the Alisses F.. P. and AI. Cole. Air Henry AIcP. Cole, of Kahutara, is a brother. The sympathy of a wide circle of friends will he extended to the bereaved relatives in their loss.—Age.
