JAM JARS FOR NOTHING.
Saturate a piece of thick cord or strand of rope in kerosene or methylated spirits. Tie the same round an ordinary empty bottle at the widest part. Set fire witli a match to the cord and let it' burn itself out. Be sure to do it in a perfectly safe place and keep away from the flare. The bottle will then break off where the cord was tied. File smooth the sharp edges of the end of the bottle and you have your jam jar. Every household has a stock of large bottles in which various commodities have been bought.
