The tender of Mr H. Thompson has been accepted bv rhe trustees of the Mabey estate for repairs, etc., to a dwelling at Konini. The illustrations in this week’s issue of the* “N.Z Spotting and Dramatic Review” admirably convey the holiday spirit, and they reproduced with an artistry characteristic of this popular publication. The racing carnival at Ellorslie is represented in a comprehensive series of snapshots, showing the starts and finishes of leading events. The Auckland Trotting Club’s meeting is also the subject of a striking set of photographs portraying ~ the principal items. The double page, has a unique cartoon in sketches of the committee of the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron. The Auckland v. New South Wales representative tennis match shows competitors at various I stages of the* contest. Another outstanding page is devoted to the professional athletic carnival at Oarlaw Park. The Public Trust office staff and the members of the police force are featured in splendid photographs covering a full page.
