The death occurred suddenly of a highly respected Foxton resident. Air Edwin Parkin, at tlie residence of his daughter, Mrs J. Turner, of Hobart Street. Wellington, on Wednesday. Mr and Airs Parkin w'ere on a visit to their daughter for the Christmas holidays.

Foxton beach is at present well patronised; There was a large crowd at the seaside over the holidays, despite somewhat boisterous weather. Seventy-five girls from the Wellingto.ii City Alission are at present encamped on the Foxton racecourse. They are- under the charge of Aliss L. A. Solomon, “camp mother” being Aliss J. Sewell, of Men vale. On Sunday morning a lorry driven by Air A*. Bonne, of Dannevirke. collided with a car driven by Air N. H. Shepherd, of Weber, about two miles on the coast side of Weber. The car was damaged, hut the occupants of both vehicles escaped without injury. A collision occurred in High St., Carterton, during the holidays between a motor truck driven by John Alunro Scott, of Bannister Street, Alas ter ton. and n motorcar driven by Richard John Culver. Both vehicles were damaged, but the occupants escaped injury. Falling at Alessrs J. C. Hutton's works at Ngahauranga. yesterday afternoon, Air P. Joseph, carter, 11 Ring’s Crescent. Lower Hutt, received concussion and a. wound to bis head He was taken to hospital by the Free Ambulance.
