The policy of the United Ireland Party includes the promotion and re-union of Ireland and the maintenance of Ireland’s right to decide whether or not to remain a member of the British Commonwealth, the preservation of Ireland’s position in the Commonwealth in view of the economic advantages thereof and the better prospects of unity therefrom, the restoration and development of the markets by businesslike settlements with Britain, the promotion of agricultural interests as the main source of prosperity, the reduction of expenditure. the speedy obliteration of memories of the civil war, the abolition of intolerance, protection of individual liberty and the building up of a worthy Irish civilisation to which all sections of the community will contribute.
