ALLEGED BOOKMAKING.
Electric Telegraph—Press Association STRATFORD. Last Night Dominic Sisarich, who was recently acquitted in the Supreme Court at New Plymouth of alleged book making, was charged to-day before Mr Woodward S.M., with keeping a common gaming house (two charges). Detective Meiklejohn said the evidence would be the same as in the Supreme Court. • Mr Coleman, for accused, said there was evidence of only one bet. and maintained that such was not sufficient to warrant a conviction on a gaming-house charge. Mr Woodward dismissed ono charge, saying The evidence was too weak to sustain it. He reserved his decision on the other.
