REP HOCKEY.

WAIRARAPA AND BUSH. On Saturday a Wairarapa representative hockey team visited Woodville and played the Bush representatives. The game ended m a draw*, one all, after a very ordinary exhibition of the code. Bush had the better of the opening stages of the game and Wairarapa were hard pressed. Though Wairarapa soon settled down, they could not penetrate the defence and the spell ended with no score. On changing over Wairarapa rushed play to Bush territory and after a few minutes’ play Fisher goaled from a free hit. Wairarapa kept up the attack and made several dangerous onslaughts, but the goalie was able to keep his goal intact. Bush then took a turn at attack and had Wairarapa again on the defensive. From a penalty corner Bush slammed in a hot shot which was disallowed. They kept up the pressure and Tildesley, in goal, made some good saves before they eventually got one past him. to even the score". Wairarapa made several excursions to Bush territory 'but could uot finish off correctly. Bush, however, were more aggressive and during the last ten minutes attacked dangerously but the defence held and an uninteresting game ended in a draw, 1 nil. The Bush team comprised: R. Harris, E. West, R. Piper, K. Fulton, E. Lett, H. Worthington, J. Hutchinson, G. Ruakere, K. Strand, H. Ward and B. Lett. After the f game the visitors were the guests - of the Bush Association at tea before returning home.
