THE UNEMPLOYED.
MEETING OF SELF-HELP CLUB. DONATIONS ACKNOWLEDGED. A meeting of the Pahiatua Unemployed Self-Help Club was held in the Borough Chambers on Tuesday evening when there were present His Worship the Mayor, Mr J. D. Wilson (chairman), Mrs J. D. Wilson, Messrs G. H. Hodd, Thrupp, Cavanagh, Tamatea and the secretary, Mr L. D. Lovelock. It was decided to hand a list of all unemployed men to the local hairdressers. It was decided that in the event of any meat distributed to the unemployed being returned by them no further allowance is to be given to replace that being returned. DONATIONS. The secretary reported that the subscription account showed a credit balance of £l2. 11s lOd. The committee of the club is desirous of thanking the following generous donors whose donations have been distributed to the unemployed : A. Bentley, bread - W.
