EKETAHUNA BRANCH. The Eketahuna branch of the AY romen’s Division of the Fanners Union held its first birthday party last Thursday afternoon in the Anglican Sunday Schoolroom, which was beautifully decorated with spring flowers. Tlie liaLL was crowded with members and friends. Mrs C. AY’elcli presided. Mrs C. O. Jackson, a former Dominion president, was introduced by Mrs AY'elch and was presented with a pretty bouquet by little Naomi Golder. Mrs Jackson gave a very interesting address on the work of the YYomen’s Division of the Farmers’ Union and told some of her experiences. Mrs Piper, president of the Pahiatua branch, presented Mrs AVelch with a posy of daphne, violets and narcissi, and Miss Anderson with a posy to be placed on her mother’s grave. A delicious afternoon tea was served by the members. A beautiful birthday cake, made by Miss Anderson and iced by Mrs Golder, was cut by Mrs Jackson after Mrs Piper had lit the one candle on it. Musical items were given by the following; M isses Mabel Berry, Rita McAnulty and Margaret Brittain (pianoforte solos'), Mosdames Moffatt and Math es on. and Misses O. Falkner and J. Kensington (vocal solos) and Miss Anderson (recitation). Mosdames MoLaughlan and G. Hansen were the accompa msts. Visitors present were Mosdames C. Cl. Jackson, Donald and AYTight and Misses Jackson and AY'right, of Masterton : Mbs Heckler, Manow mahoe ; Mesdames Piper, F. Nelson, David Crewe and Miss McSherry ( Pa h i attia). Apologies were received from Mosdames Percy, Carruthers and Warner (vice-presidents> and Mosdames Tumor and Groves. A warm quilt filled with wool was handed over to the Mayor’s Relief Fund. Mrs Scliormann was elected a member.
