HOTEL BURNED.
FIRE AX MARTON JUNCTION. Electric Telegraph—Press Association MARTON, August 21. At 1 o’clock this morning the Railway Hotel at Marton Junction was completely destroyed by fire. The outbreak was not noticed until the flames had a good hold, and the occupants had to make, a hurried escape iii their night attire. The origin of the fire was a defective chimney, and it was first noticed by the porter, W. Johnston, who hastened to alarm the occupants. The building, which consisted < f 20 rooms, was owned by the HuntEstate. Wellington. while the licensee was Mr G Carmichael, who took ever only last February. He had made extensive improvements to the interior of the house, and is a heavy loser.
