ith a view to reducing a building debt of £12,000 incurred six years ago, the Beresford Street Congregational Church, Christchurch, has set aside the first Sunday in August during that period as Thanksgiving Day, the offertories received being applied to the reduction of the debt. The. offertory this year amounted to almost £llOO, and the debt has now been reduced to £1550. The money received on Thanksgiving Day has varied from £llOO to £2IOO.
