OBITUARY
The death occurred at Palmerston North of Mr Robert McNiece McKnigkt, a former manager of the Palmerston North branch of the Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. The late Mr Mc-Knight, who was a nephew of the late Rt. Hon. John Ballance, was born near Lisbon, North Ireland. On arrival in the Dominion he joined the staff of the Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., and was stationed at several large North and South Island towns He took a keen interest in the activities of the United Manawatu Lodge, of which he was a Past Master and an honorarylife member. Erom 1916 to 1918 he was treasurer to the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association, and in 1919 was elected a life member of the association. In 1925 he retired from the position of man-
ager of the Palmerston North branch of the Loan and Mercantile Agency Co , Ltd. The late Mr McKnight leaves a widow and a son and daughter.
