HORTICULTURAL SHOW.
NUMEROUS SPECIAL PRIZES. The prize schedule for the Pahiatua Horticultural and Industrial Show, to be held on Alarc-h 10th, is tic- most comprehensive and attractive yet issued b.v the society. Alore than ordinary interest is being evinced in the show, and a very targe number of entries are expected. In the cut flowers section there is a rose howl for the "Ihost points. This trophy has to he won three times before becoming the property of an exhibitor. Air G. H. Brown has been successful on two occasions, while Airs M. Forster, of AVoodville, has a similar number of wins to her credit. Two other exhibitors who have secured a “leg-in” are Mr EL T. Siiumonds and M,rs W. T. Wilton. (n the vegetable section a rose howl, donated by the late Mr C. H. Styles, will be awarded the exhibitor gaining the most points. The cookery anti preserves classes have not been forgotten. The culinary art lias many devotees- in the Paliiatua district, and we have some good cooks in our midst. AVith a view to stimulating additional interest in this popular section of the show, Air J. A. Sinclair, of Bu ila nee, has again donated the points prize of £l, while a rose bowl, donated hv Air G. Oxley, will S° to the’ exhibitor with the best fruit cake. Mr A. J. Fairweather has donated the points prize for the -decorative classes, and for the fancy work section a prize of ten shillings will be awarded the points winner. prize well worth winning will he the attractive one donated by Mr A. R. Donald, proprietor of the King’s Theatre. To the exhibitor gaining the most points throughout the show Air Donald will present a free pass to all picture entertainments at his theatre for a period of six months. A special class lias been added for children T 6 years and, under: Decorated table, to be judged by the public. This class is sure to attract a law entry and induce keen competition. Points will be awarded as follows: First, 5; second, 3; third, 1. If no cornpet'tion only half points will he awarded. Schedules for the show may be obtained from the secretary (Air J. A. AValsh).
