GAR ACCIDENTS.

ON THE MAIN ROAD. Yesterday afternoon, two accidents occurred in fairly quick succession on the Main road, between Pahiatua and Manga tair.oka. A three-seater sedan travelling to Miangatainoka and owned by' Mr M. Alpass. of Konini, skidded and left the road in the vicinity of the Makuri corner, ar.d struck a telegraph pole, severely damaging the front of the car. The occupants had a very fortunate escape. Late in the afternoon Mr E. Foster, of Danncvirke, was driving Mr D. Fraser’s five-seater sedan out of town, and when opposite Mr T Mexted’s property the vehicle skidded off the road, and turned turtle. Tlie left wheel was bent and the body work knocked about a bit but the occupant escaped without a. scratch. COLLISION ON MANGAHAO ROAD. On Sunday morning two cars collided in Mangahao Road cn the corner 'by Mrs A. Baxter’s boardinghouse. Mr W. H. Jensen, of Mangain aire was driving his two-seater car along Mangahao Road towards the station when a. five-seater car with Mr Bonnet, of Wipawa. at the wheel came out of Albei t Street ijom the direction of the baths and crashed into the two-seater, which was rather badly damaged. No one was hurt.
