The Pahiatua Herald. PUBLISHED EVERY EVENING MONDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 1929. AN INSTRUCTIVE TOUR.

Ihe party of 45 English schoolboys, which is visiting the Dominion, is one of an educational nature. The lads are between the ages of 17 and 19 years, and the visit should make a marked, impression upon them. It is desired that they shall return Home with a knowledge of Dominion life and problems which will be of value to them and to this country when they come to take a part in public attains. The trip is not merely a. pleasure seeking one, though they will see as much of the scenic wonders as time will allow. Neither is it an occasion for fct sting and junketing, but the hospitality accorded them will b© nothing of which they can complain. The serious side of the tour is that the boys will learn what they can of the social, industrial, and political problems of tho Dominion, iso they car. turn knowledge to good account in the future. A number of tb© lads may desir© to eventually settle in New Zealand. The tour is the creation of the Rt. Hon. Mr Amci'y. A committee .arranged this particular visit and two earlier ones to Canada, and South Africa. It is a. pity the itinerary did not include Pahiat.ua. The hoys would have received a very hearty welcome, and no doubt formed very-de-sirable acquaintances and friendships.
