PERRY’S CIRCUS
TO-NIGHT’S PERFORMANCE. The AVairarapa Age says: Included in a good programme of varied events presented by Messrs Perry Bros.’ circus in Masterton were some really first-class items which left the public full of admiration at the ease with which such difficult feats were accomplished. The items announced jts star acts were fully entitled to that distinction, and were applauded with obvious appreciation. The Lorenzos, who opened the evening’s entertainment, gave some sensational flying acrobatic work on the trapezes that left the audience breathless. This wonderful troupe was the leading act m one of America’s greatest shows. Another particularly good turn was that by the Ac-hci Trio, whose evolutions as perch and ladder balancers were featured in leading vaudeville theatres on the Continent. This act, in which in one turn a lady was Balanced on her head at the end of a rod reaching nearly to the top of. the tent, the rod itself also being balanced on another performer’s shoulder, was certainly one of the best of the evening’s programme. Captain Alozalo carried out the somewhat daring act of making a lion and lioness jump through a ring of flames. Alberto. a geniu s on the tight wire, who turned somersaults from different situations off a wire rope, and rode a bicycle across the silver thread, also won well-merited applause from the audience. Miss Dorrie, who performed on a Tiorizontal bar many daring evolutions and eventually swung in a complete circle on the so-called loop of death, the five Perrys, springboard flyers and acrobats, the midget elephant, which did the Charleston and played its own music on a mouth organ, and some daring horseback riders, all contributed with distinction to a good evening’s entertainment. Many other pleasing and clever items were included in the programme, to which a good hand of clowns added much merriment with livey “business” .and patter. The location of the circus will be near Air Eckersley’s store.
