STILL SERIOUS
SECOND EDITION
ANXIETY AT THE PALACE EFFORT TO BE HAPPY (Received 10.45 a.m.) United Press Assn —By Electric T elegr aph—Copyright. LONDON, December 26. After consultation with liis colleagues Lord Dawson of Penn indicated in a statement to journalists that th e King had slightly improved. Lord Dawson said: “There is a slight improvement in both the local and general condition, it being part of a slow forward movement.” Sir Stanley Hewett and Sir Hugh Rigby participated in th e consultation. A moderate crowd gathered before the palace, despite tjie heavy rain. Ther e is little doubt expressed, however, that the King’s condition is still serious. The anxiety of the palace staff could readily be seen beneath the attempt to be happy over the holidays. The King has been alternating between a state of consciousness and coma, and the servants recently saw the Duke of York in outside the sick room after his father had been unable to recognise him. —Alls- . tralian Press Association.
