BOWLING
Th e only competition match played on the green last evening was the first game in tile senior and junior contest, between Hunter and Walsh and Crewe and Siddells, the former pair winning by 27 [joints to 12. The competition matches, as m former years, are still dragging. and a number of tlie contestants for some strange and inexplicable reason, difficult to understand, do not appear to be over anxious to play their matches. “Plenty of time” is the excuse frequently, voiced. Good entries are coming to hand for the progressive pairs’ tournament to be played on Chistmas and Boxing Days, and this popular competition promises to lie a very enjoyable one. The green, though a trifle on the heavy side as a result of the recent rain, is playing excptionally well.
