GARDEN PARTY
PRESENTATION TO MRS McDonald.
At the residence of Sister Clifford, Cambridge Street, on Wednesday afternoon. a garden party was held in honour of Mrs P. McDonald by the members of the Presbyterian Ladies’ Guild and th e P.W.M.U. There was a large gathering of ladies and the afternoon was pleasantly , occupied with competitions and gramophone music. The winners of the various competitions wer,, Misses Stewart, D. Morison, and Mrs F. Horne. A dainty tea was served on the lawn and a group •photograph taken. The presentation to the guest of the afternoon was made by Alls H. Paterson, who asked Mrs McDonald's acceptance of a beautiful silver tea service. To Aliss June McDonald she presented a serviette ring and Miss D. Morison a bracelet. Mrs Paterson referred to tlie splendid -manner in which Mrs McDonald had always fulfilled the varied duties ot a minister’s wife. She eulogised her many admirable qualities. Mrs McDonald lead made many friends in Pahiatua, and all regretted very keenly her departure. The recipient returned her sincere thanks for tlie gift and the sentiments expressed. Wherever* she went she would never find more warmhearted friends than she had at Pahiatua. She had enjoyed immensely her work among them.
