BOMB OUTRAGES

DENOUNCED BY UNIONISTS. United Press Aesn—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. MELBOURNE. September 30. Expressing horror at the bomb outrages, Air Hogan said ample police protection had been arranged to maintain peace. A conference ot the union, discussing the strike, emphatically denounced the outrage, members stating that the men ~<m strike were not associated with the dastardly' act. BRISBANE. September 30. The police raided the Communist rooms at the Trades Hall, but seized no documents. The Seamen’s Union decided to support “the watersiders in whatever action they took. At Canberra, a special Cabinet meeting is to be held on Monday to discuss the strike position. ADELAIDE. September 30. The organisation of th© Citizens’ Defence Brigade is proceeding smoothly and it is estimated 2" «) men, armed with rifles and bayonets, will be ready next week to cope with any further disturbances on the waterfront. Over 1000 have already enrolled. No ammunition lias been issued, however, and the nits of the rifles have been removed. The city is in a state of excitement. Motor-car loads of armed volunteers are parading in the vicinity of the waterfront. The Premier announced that no additional volunteer labour would he engaged on Monday until the strikers had an opportunity to register under the Transport Act. The Commonwealth and State Governments have given an undertaking that tiie volunteer labourers will no be victimised. As a result of the strike. Holden's mot-dr body-building works are closing on Alonday throwing 1500 men out of work.
