Moorlionse (New Zealand) won his heat in the hundred metres’ Ibackstroke. Time, 83 4-ssecs. In tbe two hundred metres’ freestyle Misses Kathleen Millay (New Zealand) ■ 2.57 4-5, and Miss Edna. Davey (Australia), 2.56 2-5. won their heats. In the men’s two hundred metres’ free-style Lindsay was third in his heat and qualified for the final.
