THE MATCHES AT HAAIUA. Commenting on the matches played at Hamua 011 Saturday, the Wairarapa Age stated: “The ground was all against the AVairarapa team, but they adapted themselves to the conditions in quick time. The forwards went very well indeed and had the ground been fast they would have put up a much bigger score. AH the forwards played well. They were well supported by the halves and were always attacking. The full-backs had an easy day. Rush districts possess a smart team individually but they sadly lack combination among their forwards. The backs played a very fair game, but the forwards were not able to make use of their opportunities. Jones, the Bush captain, was the star man, and he got Through seme solid work. He is a great player and Bush will lose nothing in the way of coaching while he is in the district. For Wairarapa G. Rigs (4), K. Goodin (3), Osborne and L. Rrooks scored goals. LADIES’ GAAIE. The AVairarapa lady representatives also travelled to Hamua and defeated Bush after 3 very interesting game. AVairarapa were kept busy, and i. was not until half-way through the second spoil that they gained the upper hand. Several almost certain goals were missed in quick succession and the Bush goalkeeper saved some good shots. The Rush ladies did far too much speculating, hut otherwise put up a good performance. For AVairarapa Aliss F. Booth and Miss I). Henderson scored goals. Alessrs Fisher and Scout refereed.
