(Received 10.20 a.m.) LONDON, August 19 The Channel swimmers, Ivy Hawkes, of Brighton, and Prank Perks, of Birmingham, left Cape Gi'iznez at 9.47 p.m. and 10.2 p.m'. respectively on Saturday. Eei'k,s soon overtook Hawkes, hut gave up at 8.7 a.m. to-day, f.ve miles from England. Hawkeis was successful, and landed at St. Margaret's Bay at 5.30 p.m.. after being nearly twenty hours in tire water.
