PR D ONERS SENTENCED. Electric Telegraph —Press Association Wi-.DuiNGTON, July 11. The following prisoners were sentenced at tli 0 Supremo Court to-day by His Honour, Mr Justice Reed: William John Thomas AA bailey, aged 30, for forgery and uttering at -tucklaiid and Gisborne received two years’ .probation, a. special condition being that he take out a prohibition order, pay tile costs oi the prosecution and make restitution. Wa I ter John Hamilton, aged i'~ for breaking and entering and theft at Nelson, two- years’ imprisonment and declared an habitual criminal. Horatio Martinet-, aged 33, lor breaking and entering and theft at New Plymouth, two- years’ imprisonment. Cecil Francis, aged 42, for indecent assault at AYaiiganui, seven years’ imprisonment and declared an habitual criminal. James Albert Michael McMahon, aged 36. was sentenced by Mr Justice Reed in the Supreme Court, today to eighteen months' hard labour for bigamy. His Honour said. “AVe are having cases from time to time of people comma out from England and deceiving women with regard to their marriage state, and it has to be ‘Stopped.” Arthur William Maskoll, for forgery- and uttering bogus orders at Wanganui, two years’ probation He is to pay £l3 costs and contribute £lO towards restitution to the AVanganui Chronicle.
