Thompson rifle won the British Government’s £3OOO prize for a satisfactory self-loading rifle, says the Daily News. It is of simple construction and easy to handle, enabling 35 shots per minute, which is almost twice as many as the present hand operated. also more accurate shooting is claimed. Backed up with a modern machine gun. the new rifle will be sufficient to meet any requirement of modern battle tactics.—Sun cable.
