i THE W.F.C.A. REPORT. At the usual fortnightly sale of hides, sheepskins, tallow, etc., prices for dry sheepskins compared wiith previous sale, were approximately id lower. Salted sheepskins were firmer and were keenly competed for at an advance of about 3d per skin. There was a general improvement in the pjriees realised for ox and cow hides of all weights, ox appreciating ad to Id and cow hides Jd to Jd per lb. Calfskins were unchanged. Tallow generally was on a par with previous sale, although we registered an advance of Is Od per cwt on a choice line. N.Z. LOAN AND MERCANTILE. The fortnightly sales of sheepskins, hides and tallow were held, when average catalogues were submitted to a good attendance of buyers. Tire brokers report that dry skins sold about on a par with late rates, with an easier feeling in coarse and medium sorts. Eine wools wer.e very firm. Salted skins sold fully up to last sale’s level of values. Tallow: In casks, 24s 6d to 31s; in tins, etc., 10s to 27s 6d. Sundries: Cow tails, 13d to 18Jd ; horse-hair, 20d to 23d. DALGETY AND- COMPANY. Sheepskins: A good market was again met with, competition being exceptionally keen for fine and medium wools. Prices for dry skins were well urj to. last sale’s quotations. Salteds showed a slight advance and may be quoted 3d to 6d better. Hides : Our catalogues comprised a nice selection of abbatoirs and butchers parcels and it is pleasing to record a general improvement in the maiket. We quote heavies id to id per lb better than late rates, mediums, lights and yearlings id better. Kip were enquired for at prices showing an advance of id to fd per lb on previous quoted rates. Calfskins ruled unchanged. For a nice parcel of abbatoirs and butchers ox axeraging 731bs, we secured 12Jd per lb. Our best lie of calf averaging 6i lbs, fetched 17d. Tallow: Good enquiry. Values for shipping parcels showed a slight advance on late rates. WRIGHT, STEPHENSON AND CO. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., in conjunction with Abraham ancl Williams, Ltd., report: We held our fortnightly sale of sheepskins, hides and tallow when we offered an average catalogue to a good attendance of buyers. Sheepskins: Competition for these was very keen and dry skins were, if anything, a little firmer. Salted skins were keenly sought after, and showed an advance of 6d to Is a skin. Hides: The market for these was much better, ox hides appreciating about Id per pound, whilst cow hides advanced from fd to Id per pound. Tallow: This was firm at late rates.
