YOUNG MAN KILLED BY STALLION. Electric Telegraph.—Press Association BLENHEIM, Last Night, George William Shirtliff, aged 23, only son of Mr J. V . Shirtliff, of Muller run, about 7 miles from Blenheim, was attacked by a stallion on the station yesterday. He sustained fearful injuries, resulting in death while being brought to Blenheim. The same stallion attacked the deceased a year ago when he sustained a broken leg. SC AIDED TO DEATH. AUCKLAND, Last Night. Scalds sustained through boiling soup being splashed over her resulted recently in the death of Reta Hegh. aged 2 years. The child lived with her parents at Papakura. Death was due to shock, following scalds to her neck* chest and face, according to Dr Noakes, who examined the child at the hospital. A verdict in accordance with the doctor’s evidence was returned. FOUND DROWNED. WHANGAREI, Last Night, Walter Hatton, aged about 70, left his hoarding house on Sunday evening for his customary walk and was not seen again. His body was found in the river mud by the police this afternoon. FATALITY AT NELSON. NELSON, Last Night. About three miles outside the barbom entrance before daylight this morning the auxiliary schooner Te Aroha collided with and sank a fishing launch owned by Air G. A. Thompson. One of the three occupants, a youth named Galey, was drowned.
