BEAM WIRELESS
COMPLETELY SUCCESSFUL EMPIRE COMMUNICATION. (Received 11 a.m.) Electrio Telegraph—Press Association LONDON, April 7. The first press trial of the 0.P.0. beam wireless disclosed no faults. Messages to and from Australia were satisfactorily exchanged with bewildering rapidity. Mr Amery, who wa.s present and participated, eaid that anything which accelerated Empire communications was all for the good. Sir Joseph Cook, in an interview, also referred to the Imperial value of the achievement. Technical heads of the Post Office stated that there was nothing to stop a wireless circuit accurately transmitting a thousand words a minute. During the trial no trouble was experienced front fading.
