MANGAHAO SCHOOL
XMAS TREE AXD CONCERT. Manga lino school had a very successful function last Friday evening. There were gifts for each scholar from the Xmas Tree, in addition to sweets and fruit The concert programme was a capital one, tiie performers being: Song, Mis' E. Thompson; sketch, “The Mad Tea Party” by Phyllis Hoklaway (Alice), G. Gregory (Mad-Hatter). IX Frame (Hare) and E. Hill (Doormouse). The sketch was very well ■carried out, and provided much entertainment. Songs were given by Mr L. Hill, a duet by Messrs Hill and Bibbv. ie Ration by Mrs Mcßae, songs by Mr and Mrs C. Hoklaway. instrumental items by Mr and Mrs Holdaway, the Highland Fling by D. and E. Frame, and J. Her rock The sword dance by J. Hercock was a particularly good performance. Tike entertainers were loudly applauded. Mr F. W. Bibby (chairman of the committee) presided over a sue essful gathering Proficiency certificates were awarded to Clarissa Holdaway, Phyllis Ross, and attendance certificates to Dayrell and Elvira Frame, and Malcolm Ross.
Special prizes were gained by the following: Zealous ness, Joan Pi: kerering- diligence, Geo. Gregory, srelling, Nita Hill.—Correspondent.
