CHILDREN’S BALL.
MEETING OF LADIES. A meeting of ladies, presided over by the Mayoress (Mrs J. D. C. Crewe) was held in the Borough Council Chambers yesterday afternoon to make arrangements for the children’s ball to be held in, the Drill Hall next Friday night. It was decided that the sandwiches be cut atlO a.m. on Friday morning, in St. Peter’s schoolroom, and voluntary helpers are urgently required. Donations towards the supper, of either cake, scones, or pastry, ai'e solicited by the ladies committee. Mesdames A. East and W. R. Richardson have been placed in charge of the supper- loom.
