CAR, AND CYCLE COLLIDE. Electrio Telegraph—Press Association WANGANUI, Last Night. A serious collision occurred fhis evening between a motor car driven by R. AY. Stent, and a motor cycle ridden by Tim O’Leary, both of AA'anganui. O'Leary had his skull fractured and is in a serious state at the hospital. FALL FROAI ’X TRAIN. HAAVERA, East Night. At the inquest on the death of Frederick AVilliam Stevens. whose body was found on the railwav line near Patea, a verdict of accidental death was returned by Air Barton, the Coroner. DEATH FOLLOWING INJURIES. TAIHAPE. Last Night. The young man, Ernest Robert Solomon, who had both legs amputated as a result of being run over by a guard’s van when crossing the station yard on Saturday night, died in hospital last night. Deceased was only 22 years of age, and was married three months ago. He came from Dunedin and only joined the Railway Service last February. being employed as porter at Taihape. The inquest was opened to-day and adjourned till Tuesday next, after evidence of identification had been given. BOY AND HIS BICYCLE. HAAVERA. East Night. James Carlis. aged 131 years, son of Mr AA'. Carlis, of Awafuna. was taken to hospital in an unconscious condition. He was found lying on a bridge across the Otakeho river. The accident is believed to lie due to his bicycle skidding ami throwing the rider against the concrete n.ilwny bridge. Irate this afternoon the boy was still unconscious, suffering concussion.
