FOUND IN PAIR OF SHOES THIEVES CAPTURED. (Received 10.10 a.m.) Electrio Telegraph—Press Association ROME, July 8. The A’ a tic an jewels have been recovered. Three of the thieves were discovered among the workmen repairing the Treasury. They refused to disclose where the plunder was hidden, but a detective, pretending to be a buyer, got in touch with a shoemaker who was suspected as receiver. Tlie latter revealed the haul, whereupon the police broke in and seized the chalices, minus the gems which were discovered in a pair of shoes.
