Klecrric 1 eiegrapn—Pres-s A ssomatior Christchurch, This Day.
The Rugby Union, discussing the debarring of military defaulters, expressed a doubt as to the possibility of enforcing it. efficiently. A motion was tabled that no action be taken but an amendment was carried referring the matter to the annual meeting of the New Zealand Union. It Was decided not to tie the hands of the Canterbury delegates in the matter. The Union also discussed the refusal of the Schools Football Association to accept entii'Vs from denominational schools. A letter was from the Marists Old Boys’ Association, asking what action the Rugby Union proposed to take. The Marist delegate stated that if the Marists schoolboys were cut out of the game the Old Boys Association would take drastic action. The Union decided that failing the acceptance of the Marist entries by the Schools Association the Union should undertake a special grade for school boys, and also n secondary schools competition committee was set up to report on the matter.
