DEER DETERIORATING.
SHOULD BE SEVERELY CULLED

Messrs J. Ross, bis son. Athol J. Ross, A. McLeod and A. D. Kitto, a quartette of Wairarapa deer stalkers, have been in the Alakarora district. The two former have returned. Mr Ross, senior, says this is llie fourth consecutive year be has been in iris district, and notices a pronounced deterioration in tlie herds, which, in bis opinion should be severely culled, and practical men should be engaged to do it. Mr Ross, junior, got a good fourteen pointer, and Mr McLeod a twelve pointer.
