After she goes he frames a plot with the pawn dealer, to get another crook friend to pose as Lord Fitzroy, come t«i ! America to seek ills long-lost granddaughter. and claims Alary through her ownership of the Fitzroy goblet. The plot is to take her out of lier squalid surroundings, buy her wonderful clothes. and then shop for jewels for lier, substituting fak--'jewels for real ones, thereby cleaning up a fortune for themselves before they drop Alary, llob Norton, a young newspaper reporter, who is assigned to cover the sensational store- of Lord Fitzroy'= finding of lndaugliter. gels busy, gets in touch with the real Lord Fitzroy. who conies-to America. He quickly exposes the crooks and in so doing finds his son whom he has missed for years, on the point of death. He is startled to learn that. Alary is liis /gpa nd-dn tighten.
